2 nights and 3 days

Discover a quieter side of Japan in Tabayama.
Enjoy local cafes, hot springs, food, and nature at your own pace.
Why Tabayama Village?
Tabayama Village is the smallest village by population in the Kanto region, with about 500 residents. Although it is located in Yamanashi Prefecture, it has long been connected with neighboring Okutama Town, Tokyo through the historic Ome Kaido, now National Route 411.
Around 97% of the village is covered by forests and is part of Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park and the Kobushin UNESCO Eco Park. The clear Tabagawa River is also an important water source for Tokyo.
There are no large resorts or crowded tourist attractions here. Instead, you will discover beautiful mountains, traditional shrines, seasonal festivals, local cuisine, natural hot springs, and the peaceful lifestyle of rural Japan.
This is a place where you can experience the history, culture, and everyday life of an authentic Japanese mountain village.

About Kei
Hi, I'm Kei Ishihara.
For over 20 years, I worked as an event and project manager in Japan, creating memorable experiences and taking care of guests from around the world.
For the past several years, I have been visiting Tabayama Village by motorcycle and have come to appreciate its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful countryside, and authentic rural lifestyle.
Unlike many famous tourist destinations, Tabayama offers an authentic rural Japan experience. I enjoy sharing local cafes, nature, food, hidden spots, and stories that most visitors would never discover on their own.
I speak Japanese and English and I look forward to welcoming you to one of my favorite places in Japan.

E-Bike and Hiking Experience
Tabayama Village is surrounded by beautiful nature, forest roads, and mountain views.
On Day 2, guests will leave the TABA Work Center around 10:00 AM and follow Kei through the quiet village roads of Tabayama. We will ride along Route 411 toward Kofu for a few kilometers while enjoying the countryside scenery.
Along the way, we will stop and enjoy a short hike in the mountains. Please remember that this is a mountain area, so basic bear safety precautions are important.
The cycling and hiking experience usually takes about 2 to 3 hours. After returning to Tabayama Village, we will enjoy lunch and a relaxing afternoon.
Rainy Day Options
If the weather is not suitable for cycling, don't worry. There are still many ways to enjoy Tabayama Village.
You can relax at the TABA Work Center, spend time at a local cafe, explore the village on foot with an umbrella, visit the roadside station (Michi No Eki), or even take a local bus to Okutama Station and return later.
Your guide will be happy to suggest options, so you can enjoy the experience at your own pace.
